Top-performer analysis
Find out what your best people do differently.
A strong result tells you whom to learn from. It rarely tells you what to teach. PaidInsight interviews the people you select, asks for concrete examples, and brings their accounts together in a report you can use to design a better playbook.
$15.00 USD per interview at the default reward. No subscription. See pricing.

Start with a decision
When this study is useful
Use this study when you need to decide which practices to teach, test, or standardize. For example: your strongest account managers retain more customers, but their advice stops at ‘build relationships.’ Interview them about the last renewal that nearly went wrong: what they noticed, what they did, and when they changed course.
Who to invite
- Select people using performance evidence you already trust. Define the result, time period, role, and customer context before calling someone a top performer.
- Include different territories, account types, or working conditions where relevant. A tactic that works with established customers may not transfer to a new account.
- Choose people who can describe recent work in detail and are willing to be interviewed. You bring the participants; PaidInsight does not supply or verify a panel of top performers.
Interview preparation
Questions worth exploring
Use these examples to sharpen your goal. PaidInsight designs an interview around your study; these are not a fixed script.
- Think of the last customer you kept who was close to leaving. What was the first sign that something was wrong?
- Walk me through what you did next. What did you say, and what happened after that?
- When has that approach failed? What was different about that situation?
- What would a new teammate need to notice before trying the same thing?
What to look for in the report
Practices with context
Look for routines, signals, decision points, and exceptions across the interviews. Trace a proposed practice to the accounts that support it instead of reducing it to a slogan.
Agreement and disagreement
Read where participants describe similar approaches and where they differ. A disagreement may reveal different customer conditions, rather than one person being wrong.
A starting point for coaching
Use the report’s findings and next steps to draft a checklist, coaching exercise, or small operational experiment. Keep the underlying evidence available to the people adapting it.
Turn a finding into a next step
Choose one practice that the team can try in a comparable situation. Define what success would look like, test it with a small group, and review the outcome before making it standard. The interviews help you choose a hypothesis; the subsequent trial tests whether it transfers.
What the interviews can establish
Interviewing successful people does not establish what caused their results. Memory, selection effects, and differences in resources can all shape what they describe. Compare their accounts with operational data and, where useful, interviews with other performers before drawing conclusions.
