Participant Privacy Notice
Version: 1.1.0
Effective: 2026-09-02
Audience: Invited research participants in the United States
This notice explains how PaidInsight handles your personal information when you open an invitation and take part in a research interview. It is written for participants in the United States. The rules for taking part are in the Participant Terms.
Who we are
Gede Gideon Jan van Driel, trading as PaidInsight
Netherlands
PaidInsight runs the interview service from the Netherlands. The research customer named on your invitation receives the study results and is responsible for its own use of them. This notice is operator-authored plain language for product transparency. It is not legal advice and has not been reviewed or approved by counsel.
What we collect
Depending on the invitation and your choices, we may process:
- The invitation email address and invite link records, including when the link was opened
- The phone number you enter for verification and for the interview call; we store the full number encrypted
- Verification codes and call status events
- The audio recording, transcript, and research analysis of your interview
- An optional display name you choose to show the research customer
- Your PayPal email address and claim records, if a reward is offered and you claim it
- Technical records such as request logs and email delivery events that we use to run and secure the service
Why we process it
- Deliver the invitation and verify that you control the phone number
- Place the AI interview call you requested
- Record, transcribe, and analyze the interview for the research customer's study
- Operate eligibility and reward-claim flows when a reward is offered
- Secure the service, prevent abuse, and keep required records
Text messages and calls
- We send one text message with a verification code when you request it on the invitation page. We do not send marketing texts.
- We place the AI interview call only when you request it, right after your number is verified. The interviewer is an AI assistant that uses a computer-generated voice.
- The call is recorded and transcribed. You consent to that on the invitation, before the call.
- Message and data rates may apply. If you do not want a text or a call, do not request a code, or decline the invitation.
Cookies and browser storage
The invitation pages do not use analytics or advertising cookies, and we ask search engines not to index them. If a call fails to start after your number is verified, we set one strictly necessary cookie for a short time so that you can retry without a new code; it holds only a random retry token and expires on its own. We do not track you across other websites, so we do not respond differently to Do Not Track browser signals.
Who receives it
- The research customer that invited you, for the study purpose shown on the invitation. Sharing your interview with that customer is the purpose of the study.
- Service providers that help us run calling, messaging, transcription and AI analysis, storage, email, and payouts, acting under our instructions where applicable
- Authorities or other parties when the law requires it
We do not sell participant contact lists, and we do not share your information with advertisers. This version does not name individual providers; we plan to publish a provider list in a future version.
Where your information is processed
You give us your information in the United States. Our service providers process it in the United States and in other countries, and PaidInsight accesses it from the Netherlands, where European Union data protection law applies to us. We have not yet published the specific safeguard we rely on when information moves between countries; a future version of this notice will name it once it is confirmed.
Legal basis
Because PaidInsight is located in the Netherlands, the EU General Data Protection Regulation applies to how we handle your information even though you are in the United States. Under that law we rely on:
- Your consent for sending the verification text, placing the AI interview call, and recording, transcribing, and analyzing the interview. You give it by checking the agreement control on your invitation. You can withdraw it by ending the call or by contacting us; withdrawal does not undo processing that already happened.
- Our legitimate interests in running and securing the service, preventing abuse, and keeping a record of what you agreed to.
- Our legal obligations where we must keep financial or other records.
Automated processing
An AI assistant conducts the interview, and software summarizes what you said for the research customer. We do not use your interview to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you. Reward eligibility checks may be automated; you can ask us to have a person look at a reward decision.
Security
We protect your information with measures such as encryption while it travels over the internet, encrypted storage of your phone number, and limits on who can access it. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise that unauthorized access will never happen.
Retention
We do not yet publish fixed retention periods. Interview recordings, transcripts, and related records may be kept while the study and the research customer relationship continue, and for as long as operating, security, financial-record, or legal-hold needs require. When fixed periods are approved they will appear in a new version of this notice.
Your rights
Depending on your state, United States privacy laws may give you the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to receive a copy, to correct or delete it, to opt out of sales or targeted advertising, and not to be treated differently for exercising those rights. Because EU data protection law also applies to us, every participant may:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you and receive a copy
- Ask us to correct or delete it
- Ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to a use based on our legitimate interests
- Receive the information you provided to us in a portable format
- Withdraw consent you gave earlier
To exercise a right, email admin@paidinsight.com. We may ask you to confirm that you are the participant concerned. Because the research customer receives your interview for its study, we may need to pass your request to them, and we tell you when that happens. Some records cannot be deleted while a study result, a payment record, or a legal hold depends on them; we explain that when it applies. If we decline a request, you can ask us to reconsider by replying to our answer.
You can also complain to a supervisory authority. In the Netherlands this is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens. In the United States you can contact the consumer protection office of your state attorney general.
Children
The interview service is for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 took part, contact us and we will delete the information where the law allows.
Your choices
- Decline the invitation without agreeing
- End the call at any time
- Contact admin@paidinsight.com for privacy questions
Changes
Material updates appear under a new version with a new effective date. Invitation agreement evidence binds to the version presented at acceptance time, and after a material change you are asked to agree again before a new interview.
